Digital X-Rays

We use digital radiography to capture X-ray images of your mouth and teeth. This technology has many advantages over traditional dental X-rays:

  • It’s faster.
  • It’s safer (up to 80% less radiation than conventional X-rays).
  • Images can be viewed instantly.
  • Images can be enhanced to improve viewing.
  • Images can be stored electronically and sent to specialists and insurance companies.

Digital X-rays provide us with a large, detailed image that is easy to adjust and analyze, providing you with faster and safer diagnosis for dental treatment.

Air Abrasion

Air Abrasion allows us to remove decay on your teeth without even touching them. The Air Abrasion handpiece propels a stream of clean dry air mixed with tiny abrasive particles onto the surface of the tooth. It is most effectively used for removal of small discolorations and stains, and repair or replacement of small fillings. It can also be used to expose hidden cavities, which can be then removed and restored with white fillings.

Air Abrasion has a number of advantages over traditional techniques. Little to no heat is generated, and there is no vibration, which means that there is usually no need for anesthetic. It allows us to precisely remove a minimal amount of tooth structure when clearing out decay, preserving more of your natural tooth.

Soft Tissue Laser

Laser dentistry has revolutionized the process of treating the gums and soft tissues of your mouth. Lasers use energized light to remove soft tissue with incredible precision. Since lasers work on a cellular level, they are painless; most patients don’t require any anesthesia.

The light beam cauterizes the tissue at the same time that it sculpts it, resulting in little to no bleeding and a much faster healing time. The laser also sterilizes your gums, reducing your chance of infection. Additionally, surrounding areas of your mouth are left untouched since the laser only targets the area to be treated.

Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera allows us to get a close-up view inside your mouth, displaying high-quality images on a computer monitor so you can see problems like broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, gum disease, or tooth wear. The images we take with the intraoral camera can be printed for you to take home for your personal records, and also sent to specialists and insurance companies when necessary.

The CompuDent Wand

The CompuDent system, featuring The Wand, is a new technology that reduces the amount of discomfort associated with applying numbing anesthetic. A computer-enhanced pump controls the amount and pressure of the anesthetic, preventing widespread numbness beyond eh treatment area, and increasing your comfort level. The Wand also allows us to use smaller doses of anesthetic to greater effect.
