Smile for Life This World Oral Health Day!

Serving Greater Philadelphia, including Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, & Newtown Square.

World Oral Health Day was created in 2007 at the FDI Annual World Dental Congress in Dubai. It is now celebrated annually on March 20th, though other parts of the world may celebrate on different dates. The importance of oral health is one that is universal. Our Havertown family dentistry practice would like to encourage everyone to take the time and care for your mouth.

This year's theme is “World Oral Health Day 2015, Smile for Life!” The intended meaning behind this year’s theme is twofold:

  • it is envisioned to hold the meaning of ‘lifelong smile’
  • it is also envisioned as meaning ‘celebrate life'

WOHD offers dental professionals in over 70 countries a platform that allows them to take part in a worldwide effort to increase oral health and reduce dental problems. The purpose of the campaign is to help promote worldwide awareness about oral health issues and to educate people worldwide about the importance of good oral hygiene.

The first defense again oral disease is keeping up with routine dental hygiene. Flossing each day, brushing at least twice a day, and rinsing with mouthwash on a nightly basis key.
