Cosmetic Bonding vs. Porcelain Veneers

Serving Greater Philadelphia, including Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, & Newtown Square.

Porcelain veneers are excellent options for Havertown-area patients who are looking to address chipped, cracked or improperly spaced and shaped teeth. However, The Office of Dr. Bellisario believes in giving you options, which is we also offer cosmetic bonding.

Cosmetic bonding, also known as “dental bonding,” involves the application of a high-quality dental resin to your teeth. This is hardened using a special light and then cured.

Cosmetic bonding can treat the same problems as porcelain veneers, including:

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Small teeth
  • Gaps between teeth

Generally speaking patients prefer cosmetic bonding to porcelain veneers when their concerns are relatively mild and they’re looking for a simpler, more affordable solution. And dental bonding is very good at this.

Porcelain veneers, however, are much more durable for our Havertown-area patients. They last longer and they’re stronger than cosmetic bonding.

As such, the decision as to which procedure is right for you will be a matter of discussion between you and Dr. Jeffrey Bellisario. He’ll walk you through your options and help you decide on a course of treatment that addresses your concerns.

If you live in the Havertown, Pennsylvania area and you want to know about porcelain veneers and their alternatives, please contact The Office of Dr. Bellisario today.
