Caring for Your Porcelain Veneers

Serving Greater Philadelphia, including Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, & Newtown Square.

One of the reasons porcelain veneers are so popular with our Ardmore-area patients is their durability. Our veneers are made from strong, long-lasting materials, and they’re applied with the skill and craft you’ve come to expect from The Office of Dr. Jeffrey Bellisario.

However, that durability requires some effort from you. Fortunately, all that’s required to protect your porcelain veneers is the simple maintenance and sound dental hygiene you practice every day.

That means:

  • Brushing at least twice a day
  • Flossing regularly, at least daily
  • Seeing our dentist for frequent, regularly scheduled appointments (at least twice a year)
  • Using non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste

Finally, grinding or clenching your teeth can damage your porcelain veneers. Dr. Bellisario will discuss your options if you have fallen into this habit, and might fit you with a mouth guard you can wear while you sleep.

We’ll be happy to answer any questions about porcelain veneers you might have. If you care for your veneers in the same way you care for your teeth they will last you years and give you a bright, photogenic smile.

If you live in the Ardmore, Pennsylvania area and you’re considering porcelain veneers, please contact The Office of Dr. Bellisario today.
